Attachment and Complex Trauma: Healing in relationship
The power of change resides in relationship. Each person is impacted by attachment and through an experience of healthy attachment and belonging can we heal. Engaging in meaningful relationships and activities leverages change. This presentation will provide an overview of Attachment and how crucial it is for healthy development of our children. The impact of trauma on brain development and Attachment styles will also be discussed. The significance of parent- child interactions in the early years and how to foster the interactions as children grow will be looked at. This presentation will give us a very good understanding the impact trauma has on children of all ages, and if left untreated, how it can impact their future as adults. Throughout, we’ll address how this knowledge impacts how we parent and how we can rethink various ways of supporting families. As change allies, we may occasionally feel we have not done enough. The presentation will address the significant role we play as helping professionals by just choosing to be in relationship with others.
