AHVNA presents

Virtual Motivational Interviewing Level 1

Level 1 MI – Online

This online course will use Zoom for an interactive, lively training. There will be four 3-hour Zoom sessions. Each session will combine a variety of learning activities including mini (really mini!) presentations, small group and individual activities, watching and analyzing video examples, and live practice with partners. There will also be some lively fun activities to keep us energized.

A workbook will be sent in advance  (via email) which must be required printed off and brought to each of the training sessions. A pre-workshop information worksheet is required to be completed prior to the first session. Attendance and participation in all sessions for all entire time is required to receive a certificate of completion.

A stable Internet connection is essential, a computer with microphone and video capabilities (phones are possible but not recommended) and basic familiarity with Zoom software to participate in this online workshop (A link to an Introduction to Zoom  can be sent if you are not familiar with it – it’s not hard to learn!).

Level 1 Learning Goals

Participants will be able to:

  • describe MI’s spirit, process and skills
  • explain why people do and do not change and how practitioners can influence the direction of a meeting
  • learn to do more activities that encourage change and reduce activities that interfere with change
  • learn and practice the basic skills of MI to elicit change talk and dance with discord

Date: Monday, April 25 and Tuesday, April 26; and Monday, May 2 and Tuesday, May 3. (register by April 12, 2022) Must attend all four sessions.

Time: 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Location: Virtual training on ZOOM – (link to be emailed out day before training)

Registrants will be emailed the book and expected to print prior to the training.

Fee

AHVNA Member; $250.00

Non Member: $315.00

Attendance at all four sessions is required to receive a certificate.

Priority will be given to AHVNA members. Space is limited.

Virtual Training Expectations:

  • As this is a virtual training, not a webinar, each participant must have access to a camera, mic and internet
  • Requirements to receive a certificate:
    • Attend the entire training, with camera on (infrequent breaks from the camera are permitted)
    • Participate in break out rooms and activities
  • Please contact AHVNA prior to registration if this is an issue and we can help problem solve.

We want you to get as much out of the virtual training as you would an in-person training!
