Community of Practice
CLICK HERE for a short video explanation from the facilitator
- Communities of practice are groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly
- Each session will be facilitated by Leadership Development Coach, Kathy Archer who will aid in:
- Sharing information
- Discussing best practices
- Learning from each other
- Discovering new knowledge
- Sharing common challenges
Why a Leadership Community of Practice?
- Being a leader in Home Visitation or Early Childhood support can have some unique challenges, including a sense of isolation and few opportunities to connect meaningfully with peers.
- Communities of practice are a valuable professional learning strategy that can support leaders, as they provide opportunities to:
- Connect with others doing similar work throughout the province
- Explore new possibilities, solve challenging problems, and create new, mutually beneficial opportunities.
- Engage in mutual learning through communication, mentoring, coaching, and self-reflection.
- Capture and share existing knowledge
- Enter into the parallel process through collaboration
- Generate new knowledge
