About the Family Preservation Session:
June 6 9:00-12;00 1:30-4:00 p.m.
Building trust and meaningful engagement is the heart of home visitation practice and working with people. This workshop will teach restorative approaches and techniques for engaging parents/caregivers to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
Gayle Desmeules – Biography
Gayle, a citizen of the Métis Nation of Alberta, earned a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University in 2003 and has a Q.Med designation with ADR Institute of Alberta and Canada. Her research and practice focus on restoring healthy relationships for people in conflict or involved with the social justice system. She has a background in community development, human services, and transformative change for building DEI workplace cultures using restorative engagement as a way to address harm and foster positive change within individuals, groups, institutions, and systems, see English | Français Report on Written Submissions: English | Français
Through her company True Dialogue, www.truedialogue.ca, Gayle provides family and workplace mediation, restorative justice facilitation, peacemaking training, and consulting services. She’s an Instructor for the International Institute for Restorative Practices and the Alberta Restorative Justice Association.
