Expired HV Touchpoint Series – Emotional Responses during a Pandemic

  •  December 7, 2020
     1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

Topic: Emotional Responses during a pandemic

During this conversation we will learn about normal emotional responses to a natural disaster, like COVID. This will include learning about the neuroscience of our emotions, doing some practical activities together, and talking about how we flourish as human beings. The emphasis will be on having a casual conversation with lots of room to hear from each others and learn together.

Carmen Lawrence is a Masters prepared Nurse who has worked in Children’s Mental Health for most of her career. Her positions include Mental Health Therapist with Alberta Health Services; a lead with Alberta Education on supporting psychosocial recovery following the Wildfires; and currently providing Mental Health Consultation to the GRIT program.

About the HV Touchpoint Series:

HV Touchpoints are a way of connecting about topics related to the philosophy, practice and administration of Home Visitation.

Touchpoints will be focused on a specific topic and will have formats that encourage strong engagement from attendees in the form of questions, sharing and/or activities.

Some will have a primary speaker/presenter, while others will rely on our peers throughout the province to share a variety of resources, ideas and approaches.

Who should attend:

Individuals and teams involved in provincially funded Home Visitation in Alberta.

We suggest attending any of the series you feel will meet your team’s needs and include any team members who would benefit or be able to contribute to the conversation.
