Topic: Working Alone
Do you or any members of your team work alone? Do you understand the hazards of working alone? do you know your legal obligations and meet these expectations when working alone occurs? this session is designed for those that work alone and those that supervise others that work alone or in isolation. We will discuss what is expected and through group activities both share and brainstorm practical solution.
Working Alone is something that affects all home visitation programs. We have contracted with a speaker to discuss Working Alone in Alberta. This session will discuss the definition of working alone, the legislation – employer and worker responsibilities as well as hazard assessments. There will be activities to promote discussion and thinking about what potential hazards home visitors may be exposed to and setting up a working alone plan to move forward in this area as an agency.
At a later date we will invite agencies to share the systems, resources they have in place for their home visitation staff.
Lori Markowsly is an OHS trainer and is a facilitator with many years of experience in this field.
About the HV Touchpoint Series:
HV Touchpoints are a way of connecting about topics related to the philosophy, practice and administration of Home Visitation.
Touchpoints will be focused on a specific topic and will have formats that encourage strong engagement from attendees in the form of questions, sharing and/or activities.
Some will have a primary speaker/presenter, while others will rely on our peers throughout the province to share a variety of resources, ideas and approaches.
Who should attend:
Individuals and teams involved in provincially funded Home Visitation in Alberta.
We suggest attending any of the series you feel will meet your team’s needs and include any team members who would benefit or be able to contribute to the conversation.
