The Mental Health Building Blocks Series:
Supporting through Divorce and Separation
This is the second stand-alone workshop of the Building Blocks Series. This session focuses on how to support caregivers to connect with and meet their children’s needs for safety and security when experiencing the changes and transitions that arise from caregivers’ divorce and/or separation. In the session, relational strategies and tools will be discussed, focusing on responsive, connective, and supportive foundations for meeting these needs and supporting the impact of divorce and separation on social emotional development. These strategies and tools will be explored to set the basis for parents to foster a safe and secure relational environment for their children through big life changes. This relational environment will support children’s development, mental health, and functioning.
