AHVNA presents
Virtual Motivational Interviewing Level 1
Level 1 MI – Online
This online course will use Zoom for an interactive, lively training. There will be four 3-hour Zoom sessions. Each session will combine a variety of learning activities including mini (really mini!) presentations, small group and individual activities, watching and analyzing video examples, and live practice with partners. There will also be some lively fun activities to keep us energized.
You will receive a workbook in advance which you will be required to have with you during the training sessions. You will be required to complete a pre-workshop information worksheet. Attendance and participation in all sessions for all entire time is required to receive a certificate of completion.
You will need a stable Internet connection, a computer with microphone and video capabilities (phones are possible but not recommended) and basic familiarity with Zoom software to participate in this online workshop (you will be sent a link to an Introduction to Zoom if you are not familiar with it – it’s not hard to learn!).
Level 1 Learning Goals
Participants will be able to:
- describe MI’s spirit, process and skills
- explain why people do and do not change and how practitioners can influence the direction of a meeting
