Date: 4.5 days Wednesday, May 25 PM only, Thursday, May 26 (all day), and Friday, May 27, 2022(all day) plus Monday, May 30 (all day) and Tuesday May 31 2022(all day). (register by May 5, 2022). Attendance on all 4.5 days is required to receive a certificate.

Nobody’s Perfect Facilitator Training
Training for individuals interested in offering the Nobody’s Perfect Parenting Program through their community agency. A parenting program for parents of children birth to age five.
The Nobody’s Perfect Facilitator training is a 4.5 day training session which covers the concepts and skills necessary to work with parents in a group setting. The training covers:
- Key concepts of the program and materials
- Adult education principles
- Organizing and planning program sessions
- Developing and practicing facilitation skills
Becoming a Nobody’s Perfect Facilitator…
It is important that prospective facilitators are aware of the role she/he is being trained for. Newly trained facilitators must be able to deliver the program and a commitment to implement Nobody’s Perfect after completion of the training is required. A Certificate of participation will be issued upon completion of the training. A certificate signifying Nobody’s Perfect Facilitator will be issued upon completion of facilitating a Nobody’s Perfect parenting workshop (which must be done within one year of completing the training) and submission of the program data. The sponsoring organization is responsible for costs for the participant to attend the facilitator training (travel, accommodations, etc.). Facilitators and sponsoring organizations must also be willing to provide AHVNA with statistical information and participate in program evaluation activities as required.
About Nobody’s Perfect…
Nobody’s Perfect is a parenting education and support program for parents of children from birth to age five. It is designed to meet the needs of parents who are young, single, socially or geographically isolated or who have low income or limited formal education.
The Nobody’s Perfect program is based on the principles of adult education. It builds on what parents already know and do for themselves and their children. It starts with the parents’ personal experiences and interests and actively involves participants in the learning process. It builds networks among parents and encourages them to see one another as sources of advice and support. It is flexible, it is learner centred, and built on respect.
How the program works…
The program is usually offered in a series of six to eight weekly group sessions delivered by a Nobody’s Perfect trained facilitator. Sometimes the program is offered on a one to one basis. The program is offered free to parents. The organization sponsoring the program provides parent kits, transportation, child care and snacks during the sessions when offering workshops in-person, thus reducing barriers to attendance. Parents are also given a Parenting book resource kit free of charge. The agency is responsible for purchasing the kits. Participation in the program is voluntary. The sponsoring agency is responsible for costs associated with implementing the program.
This facilitator training is a virtual workshop – you must have access to a computer, webcam, speakers, mic and have a good internet connection. The training will use Zoom. Using your phone or iPad will not work. Cameras must be always on.
Once you have completed online registration there are two additional forms to complete prior to the Facilitator training workshop.
Virtual Training Expectations:
- As this is a virtual training, not a webinar, each participant must have access to a camera, mic and internet
- Requirements to receive a certificate:
- Attend the entire training, with camera on (infrequent breaks from the camera are permitted)
- Participate in break out rooms and activities
